  • Summary:
    The Occupational Therapist (OT) helps individuals of all ages engage in the activities and occupations that are meaningful to them. This role supports patients with physical, cognitive, developmental, or emotional challenges that impact their ability to perform everyday tasks, fostering independence and improving quality of life.

    Patient Care:
    Yes — This position requires direct patient care.

    Essential Functions:
    1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, mental, and developmental abilities.
    2. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and goals.
    3. Implement and monitor treatment plans, making adjustments as necessary.
    4. Educate patients and families on therapeutic activities and exercises for home practice.
    5. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
    6. Maintain accurate, detailed patient records and progress notes.
    7. Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and professional development to stay current with best practices and emerging techniques.

    Education & Credentials:
    1. Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy — required.
    2. State Occupational Therapist License — required.
    3. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification — preferred.

    Experience:
    1. 0-1 year of experience as an occupational therapist preferred.
    2. Experience in residential, assisted living, or skilled nursing facilities is preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    1. Ability to effectively work with patients and interdisciplinary teams.
    2. Proficient knowledge of medical terminology.
    3. Strong time management skills.
    4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    5. Outstanding interpersonal skills.
