  • Job Summary
    The Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients with acute, chronic, surgical, and complex wounds. The RN collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote healing, prevent complications, and provide evidence-based wound management services while ensuring high-quality patient care.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
    2. Perform wound care treatments, dressing changes, and other therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
    3. Monitor wound healing progress and adjust care plans based on patient response.
    4. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on wound care management and prevention strategies.
    5. Collaborate with physicians, dietitians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
    6. Identify patients at risk for pressure injuries and implement preventive measures.
    7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
    8. Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards and wound care best practices.
    9. Provide consultation and clinical expertise to nursing staff regarding wound management.
    10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and wound care program development.
    Required Qualifications
    1. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
    2. Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
    3. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Wound Care, Medical-Surgical, Long-Term Care, Home Health, or Acute Care nursing preferred.
    4. Strong knowledge of wound assessment, treatment modalities, and pressure injury prevention.
    5. Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
    6. Ability to develop and implement evidence-based care plans.
    7. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    2. Previous experience in a dedicated Wound Care Center, Hospital, Long-Term Care, or Home Health setting.
    3. Experience with negative pressure wound therapy, ostomy care, and advanced wound care products.
    4. Knowledge of regulatory standards and quality improvement practices related to wound management.
    Certifications
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
    2. Wound Care Certified (WCC) Certification, preferred.
    3. Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) Certification, preferred.
