Job Summary
The Nurse Manager assumes 24-hour responsibility for the management of the Endoscopy Unit and Interventional Radiology. This role is accountable for assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care across assigned nursing units. The Nurse Manager ensures the delivery of high-quality services and professional nursing practice in accordance with established standards of care and Emerson Hospital policies. Reporting to this position are clinical and support staff, including Registered Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Assistants, and Unit Secretaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour leadership and management of the Endoscopy Unit and Interventional Radiology.
- Assess, plan, direct, and evaluate patient care delivery.
- Ensure compliance with nursing standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and support nursing and support staff, fostering a positive work environment.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet patient care needs.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Monitor quality metrics and implement process improvements.
- Support staff development through mentoring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain accountability for patient safety and satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience within the specialty area.
- 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing endoscopy or interventional radiology units.
- Strong background in clinical leadership and staff development.
- Familiarity with hospital quality improvement initiatives.
