    JOB SUMMARY
    The Echo Sonographer will utilize ultrasound equipment to perform echocardiograms on patients to assess cardiac function and diagnose cardiovascular conditions. This role requires proficiency in various echocardiographic techniques and a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology.

    Key Responsibilities
    - Perform diagnostic echocardiograms, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms.
    - Acquire high-quality ultrasound images and Doppler studies of the heart.
    - Measure cardiac structures and assess chamber dimensions, wall motion, and valvular function.
    - Identify and document abnormalities such as congenital defects, cardiomyopathies, and valvular heart disease.
    - Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment.
    - Prepare preliminary reports of findings for review by a cardiologist.
    - Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
    - Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
    - Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control guidelines.

    Schedule / Shift
    Variable shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Potential for on-call rotation.

    Required Qualifications
    - High school diploma or equivalent.
    - Completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
    - Current BLS certification.

    Certifications
    - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent certification from credentialing body such as ARDMS.

    Experience
    - Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Echo Sonographer.
    - Experience with transthoracic echocardiography.

    Skills
    - Proficient in cardiac ultrasound imaging techniques.
    - Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
    - Ability to perform Doppler and color Doppler assessments.
    - Strong understanding of cardiac hemodynamics.
    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    - Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
    - Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

    EMR / Systems
    Familiarity with PACS and EMR systems.
