Job Summary
The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized treatment programs to help patients restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. This role collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality rehabilitative care and promote patient independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ physical abilities and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and other interventions to improve mobility and strength.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, home exercise programs, and injury prevention.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
- Use equipment and technology to support rehabilitation goals.
- Adhere to professional, ethical, and regulatory standards of practice.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent.
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in outpatient, inpatient, or specialty care settings.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Additional certifications in specalized therapy techniques (e.g., orthopedics, neurology, pediatrics).
Certifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in practicing state.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
