Job Summary
The Registered Nurse - Psychiatric provides compassionate care to patients in an acute psychiatric setting.
This role involves delivering high-quality nursing care, maintaining patient safety, and supporting patients with various psychiatric needs in a General Population (Adult Psych/BHH) environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in an acute psychiatric setting.
- Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and assess mental and physical health.
- Respond to emergency situations and de-escalate crises as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with facility protocols and industry standards, including safety measures.
- Participate in bi-weekly orientation sessions to stay updated on best practices and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid state nursing license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certifications.
- At least 2 years of experience in an acute psychiatric setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong ability to adapt to fluctuating patient ratios and staffing needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
Certifications
- BLS, ACLS, and CPI certifications (current and valid).
