  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support dentists during procedures by preparing patients, ensuring comfort, and facilitating efficient treatment processes. This role also involves maintaining the dental operatory, managing supplies, assisting with administrative tasks, and adhering to safety and infection control protocols.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Assist dentists during procedures by preparing patients and dental materials such as cements, impressions, and temporary crowns.
    2. Collect and document patient histories to support individualized care.
    3. Perform sterilization and prepare operatories in compliance with infection control guidelines.
    4. Coordinate dental department operations including clinic flow, equipment maintenance, and inventory management.
    5. Collaborate with the Dental Receptionist and provide front desk support as needed.
    6. Inventory and order dental materials and supplies with approval.
    7. Perform Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) duties as directed by the Dental Director, including specialized tasks if certified (e.g., sealants).
    8. Follow OSHA requirements, particularly those related to infection control and hazardous waste management.
    9. Maintain operatories in compliance with Bloodborne Pathogens Policy.
    10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date dental charts and records.
    11. Participate in department safety meetings and adhere to all policies and procedures.
    12. Ensure punctuality and preparedness for dental procedures.
    13. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dental Director.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Dental Assistant certificate.
    2. High school diploma or GED.
    3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    4. X-Ray license preferred.
    5. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare setting.
    2. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
    3. Excellent communication and patient care abilities.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license preferred.
    2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    3. X-Ray license preferred but not mandatory.
