  • Job Summary:
    The Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room provides high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic emergency department. This role involves assisting with overflow and bed expansion while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to address urgent medical needs, ensuring optimal care for patients in critical conditions.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Patient Care Delivery:
    • Provide exceptional care to patients in the emergency department, including managing overflow and supporting bed expansion in hallways as needed.
    • Administer treatments, medications, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and patient needs.
    • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes, including physicians, technicians, and other nursing staff.
    • Ensure effective communication with patients and their families, providing updates on care and treatment plans.
    • Safety & Efficiency:
    • Maintain a safe and efficient environment while adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
    • Ensure patient safety through adherence to infection control protocols and accurate documentation of patient care.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department (ED).
    • Availability to work every other weekend (EOW) and one winter holiday.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) will be considered.
    • Strong adaptability and ability to perform under pressure in a high-acuity setting.

    Certifications:
    • Required: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
    • Preferred: Advanced certifications in emergency care (e.g., ACLS, PALS) may be advantageous.

    Education and Experience:
    • Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    • Preferred: BSN and experience in an Emergency Room or high-acuity setting.
