Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to perform chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests that provide critical data for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. This role involves operating analytical devices, conducting laboratory assays, and ensuring accuracy through quality control and equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory assays to analyze patient specimens.
- Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids (blood, urine, etc.) to identify normal and abnormal components.
- Execute and interpret tests in chemistry, hematology, morphology, cytology, urinalysis, serology, histology, and bacteriology.
- Visually identify and enumerate red and white blood cells.
- Correlate test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition to support medical decisions.
- Enter findings into laboratory systems with accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform quality control studies to ensure reliability of clinical data.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment according to established schedules.
- Conduct microscopic examinations, including semen and urine analysis.
- Collaborate with medical professionals to interpret laboratory findings.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and safety standards.
- Work Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in microscopy, semen analysis, and urine analysis (semen analysis not required if urine microscopy is strong).
- ASCP certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Medical Technologist (ASCP).
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
