Job Summary
The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing nursing operations within assigned units, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. This role provides leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff, while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements. The Nurse Manager collaborates with physicians, administrators, and interdisciplinary teams to promote excellence in patient outcomes and staff development.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily nursing operations and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance evaluations for nursing staff.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to improve patient care and operational efficiency.
- Monitor patient outcomes and ensure adherence to clinical standards and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Manage scheduling, payroll, and administrative tasks for nursing staff.
- Oversee training, orientation, and continuing education programs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Participate in budget planning and resource allocation for the nursing department.
- Promote a positive work environment and foster teamwork among staff.
Required Qualifications
- OR Nurse Manager - will work OR, PACU, pre-op and PAS -EPIC experience required
- 9 PACU bays, 5 pre-op 4 secondary recovery, 5 ORs and 1 Endo room. 3 clinic rooms in PAS (pre-admission screening)
- Responsible for Supervision of Operating Room. Must have OR NM/Supervisory experience in a acute care setting. Minimum 1year OR NM exp.
- Shift: 7a-3:30p (40 hr weeks)
- Floating Required: No
- Scrub Color: Any color
- Must work every other major holiday
- Flu vaccine required during season
Submission Requirements:
- Up to date resume that includes 1+ year(s) of OR/Perioperative Nurse Manager experience in matching specialty experience. Also, must document travel experience.
- EPIC Exp. Required
- AHA BLS required at submission / CNOR is preferred.
- Current or Conditional Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
- Current AHA BLS required
- EMR Exp Required: EPIC
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Prior experience as a Nurse Manager or in a leadership role within acute care or specialty units.
- Advanced training in healthcare management or leadership.
- Demonstrated success in staff development and quality improvement initiatives.
Certifications (if any)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – preferred.
- Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC or NEA-BC) – preferred.
