  • Job Summary:
    The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides specialized care for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. This role involves assessing patients, administering respiratory treatments, managing ventilators, and collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient respiratory function and comfort.

    Key Responsibilities:
    1. Assess, plan, and implement respiratory therapy treatments based on physician orders and patient needs.
    2. Administer oxygen, aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy, and other respiratory treatments.
    3. Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators and other respiratory equipment.
    4. Perform diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests.
    5. Educate patients and their families on respiratory care and disease management.
    6. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans.
    7. Maintain accurate patient records and document treatments and outcomes.
    8. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards.

    Required Qualifications:
    1. Associate degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
    2. Valid Respiratory Therapist license or certification as required by the state.
    3. Experience with mechanical ventilation and respiratory care procedures.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    1. Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
    2. Experience in critical care, neonatal, or pediatric respiratory therapy.

    Certifications:
    1. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred.
    2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    3. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
