  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a detail-oriented Pediatric Medical Secretary to provide essential administrative support in a pediatric healthcare setting. This role ensures smooth office operations by managing patient reception, scheduling, electronic health records (EHR), insurance verification, and billing, while maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity in handling pediatric-specific documentation and legal/custody information.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Greet and assist parents and children during patient reception, check-in, and check-out.
    2. Schedule appointments and coordinate provider calendars to ensure efficient patient flow.
    3. Manage and update patient information in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
    4. Verify insurance coverage, process billing, and collect co-pays.
    5. Coordinate communication between providers, patients, and families.
    6. Maintain accurate records, referrals, and age-specific documentation (e.g., vaccines, growth charts).
    7. Handle sensitive legal and custody information for minors with discretion and confidentiality.
    8. Support providers and staff with administrative tasks as assigned.

    Required Qualifications
    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
    2. Prior experience in medical office administration or healthcare support.
    3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, parents, and healthcare teams.
    4. Proficiency in EHR systems and basic computer applications (Microsoft Office or similar).
    5. Knowledge of insurance verification and billing processes.
    6. Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
    7. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Experience in pediatric healthcare settings.
    2. Familiarity with pediatric documentation requirements (vaccines, growth charts).
    3. Knowledge of medical terminology.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. None required; administrative or healthcare-related certifications are a plus.
