  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician for a contract position in Boston, Massachusetts. This role involves supporting the pharmacy department with prior authorizations, prescription renewals, and patient communication while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Process prior authorizations (approximately 85% of workload).
    2. Handle one-line prescription renewal requests.
    3. Provide information and triage calls within the pharmacy department.
    4. Support pharmacists with technical and clerical tasks.
    5. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    6. Utilize Epic software to manage pharmacy operations.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Registered Pharmacy Technician.
    2. High school diploma or equivalent.
    3. Completion of an accredited pharmacy program.
    4. Proven experience performing prior authorizations.
    5. Epic system experience (mandatory).
    6. Strong communication and organizational skills.
    7. Covid-19 and Flu vaccinations required.
    8. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Previous experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting.
    2. Familiarity with electronic health record systems beyond Epic.
    Certifications (if any)
    • Active Pharmacy Technician registration/certification in State.
