Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician for a contract position in Boston, Massachusetts. This role involves supporting the pharmacy department with prior authorizations, prescription renewals, and patient communication while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Process prior authorizations (approximately 85% of workload).
- Handle one-line prescription renewal requests.
- Provide information and triage calls within the pharmacy department.
- Support pharmacists with technical and clerical tasks.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Utilize Epic software to manage pharmacy operations.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Pharmacy Technician.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited pharmacy program.
- Proven experience performing prior authorizations.
- Epic system experience (mandatory).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Covid-19 and Flu vaccinations required.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems beyond Epic.
Certifications (if any)
- Active Pharmacy Technician registration/certification in State.
