  • Job Summary  
    The Senior Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing the credentialing process for healthcare providers, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. This role involves coordinating provider applications, verifying credentials, maintaining accurate records, and supporting audits and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in healthcare credentialing processes.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Coordinate and manage the credentialing and re-credentialing process for healthcare providers.
    2. Review applications, verify licensure, certifications, education, training, and work history.
    3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date credentialing files and databases.
    4. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
    5. Prepare reports and documentation for audits, surveys, and compliance reviews.
    6. Communicate with providers, payers, and internal departments to resolve credentialing issues.
    7. Track credentialing deadlines and ensure timely completion of renewals.
    8. Support process improvements and implement best practices in credentialing operations.

    Required Qualifications
    1. High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    2. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in healthcare credentialing or provider enrollment.
    3. Strong knowledge of credentialing standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation processes.
    4. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
    5. Superior verbal and written communication skills.
    6. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
    7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and credentialing software systems.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Experience working in a hospital, health system, or large medical group setting.
    2. Familiarity with NCQA, CMS, and Joint Commission standards.
    3. Prior leadership or senior-level credentialing experience.

    Certifications
    1. Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) preferred.
