  • Job Summary
    The Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions. The role is responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient conditions, and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to promote safe, effective, and high-quality patient outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Assess patients' physical and clinical conditions and identify changes requiring intervention.
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs and medical conditions.
    • Administer medications, treatments, and other therapies in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols.
    • Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, patient symptoms, and responses to treatment.
    • Provide preoperative and postoperative nursing care as appropriate.
    • Perform wound care, catheter care, IV therapy, and other medical/surgical nursing procedures within scope of practice.
    • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in electronic medical records.
    • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
    • Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, disease management, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
    • Identify and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns to the appropriate clinical team.
    • Follow infection-control, patient-safety, medication-administration, and other hospital policies and procedures.
    • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical initiatives.

    Required Qualifications
    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
    • Experience providing nursing care in a medical/surgical or acute-care environment.
    • Knowledge of medical/surgical nursing practices, patient assessment, medication administration, and clinical care procedures.
    • Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage care for multiple patients in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
    • Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems.
    • Commitment to patient safety, quality care, confidentiality, and professional nursing standards.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Previous experience in an acute-care hospital medical/surgical unit.
    • BSN or higher nursing degree.
    • Certification in a relevant nursing specialty.

    Certifications
    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.

    Note: Travel Experience Required.
