    JOB SUMMARY
    Mammography Technicians (Allied) are responsible for performing mammography examinations according to established protocols and physician orders. They play a crucial role in the early detection of breast cancer by producing high-quality diagnostic images.

    Key Responsibilities
    - Perform diagnostic mammography procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
    - Ensure proper patient positioning and technique to obtain optimal images.
    - Operate mammography equipment, including specialized digital units and stereotactic biopsy equipment.
    - Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient use.
    - Maintain patient records and documentation according to facility policies and regulatory requirements.
    - Adhere to radiation safety principles and protocols.
    - Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
    - Participate in quality control and assurance activities.

    Schedule / Shift
    Weekend/Holiday rotation may be required.

    Required Qualifications
    - Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
    - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

    Certifications
    - Registered Technologist in Mammography (RT(M)) credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
    - Mammography (M) certification from the ARRT.

    Experience
    - Minimum of 1-2 years of experience performing mammography examinations.

    Skills
    - Proficient in mammography positioning and technique.
    - Knowledge of breast anatomy and pathology.
    - Familiarity with digital mammography equipment and PACS systems.
    - Strong patient care and communication skills.
    - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    EMR / Systems
    Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) is generally expected.

    Patient Population
    Adult patients requiring diagnostic mammography services.
