  • JOB TITLE: Travel - CT Tech
    UNIT / SPECIALTY: CT Tech - Radiology
    SCHEDULE / SHIFT: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

    JOB SUMMARY
    Responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) technology, ensuring patient safety and high-quality imaging results. This role involves operating CT scanners, positioning patients, administering contrast agents, and ensuring all procedures adhere to established protocols and safety standards.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Perform CT scans accurately and efficiently according to physician orders and established protocols.
    • Position patients correctly for optimal imaging and minimize radiation exposure.
    • Operate CT scanner and associated equipment, including selecting appropriate technical factors and scanning parameters.
    • Administer oral and intravenous contrast media as required and per protocol, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
    • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
    • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the EMR system.
    • Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles.
    • Perform quality control checks on CT equipment to ensure proper function.
    • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate interpretation of images.
    • Respond to emergency situations and provide assistance as needed.

    EXPERIENCE
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist.

    CERTIFICATIONS
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

    SKILLS
    • Proficient in operating various CT scanner models.
    • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
    • Ability to administer contrast media safely.
    • Strong understanding of radiation protection principles.
    • Excellent patient care and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

    EMR / SYSTEMS
    • Experience with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
    • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems for documentation.

    PATIENT POPULATION
    • Adult and geriatric patients.

    FLOATING / ON-CALL
    • May be required to float to other CT imaging areas as needed.
