Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) to join our surgical team. The RN will provide specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. This role requires advanced clinical expertise, strong critical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after cardiovascular surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists in the CVOR, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields, instruments, and equipment.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to changes in condition during procedures.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely in the medical record.
- Educate patients and families on pre- and post-operative care.
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and sterile techniques.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Prior experience in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Advanced training in perioperative or cardiovascular nursing.
Certifications (if any)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required).
- CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) credential (preferred).
