  • Job Summary
    The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality MRI procedures in coordination with radiologists and physicians while ensuring patient safety, accurate documentation, and adherence to established protocols. This role involves patient screening, imaging, documentation, and maintaining equipment and compliance standards within a clinical environment.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Perform MRI procedures with a high level of technical quality following established protocols.
    • Coordinate with radiologists and physicians to ensure appropriate exam selection and execution.
    • Screen patients and individuals entering the MRI suite for safety and compliance with MRI guidelines.
    • Collect and document patient medical history, contrast history, and screening information.
    • Ensure all imaging studies and documentation are accurately sent to PACS.
    • Prepare patients for procedures, including verification of identity and physician orders.
    • Provide clear instructions, answer patient questions, and ensure patient comfort during procedures.
    • Utilize appropriate safety measures and adhere to MRI safety standards and magnetic field guidelines.
    • Operate MRI equipment efficiently and report any malfunctions or deficiencies.
    • Maintain accurate and complete documentation in system records, including changes in patient condition.
    • Assist radiologists during procedures as required.
    • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and procedure rooms and ensure adequate supply levels.
    • Support department operations, including assisting in other areas and handling administrative tasks when needed.
    • Participate in risk management, compliance activities, and continuing education programs.
    • Adapt to varying workloads and schedules, including shift adjustments as needed.
    • Follow infection control and isolation protocols as required.

    Required Qualifications
    • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
    • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (AMRIT).
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist in a hospital or outpatient setting.
    • Knowledge of MRI safety practices, contrast media guidelines, and patient care standards.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff.
    • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Venipuncture certification.
    • Experience with Philips 1.5T or 3T MRI systems.
    • Proficiency in Neuro, Body, and Musculoskeletal imaging.
