Job Summary
The Registered Nurse – NICU provides specialized nursing care to neonatal patients with health conditions ranging from simple to highly complex. Working under general supervision, the RN delivers safe, evidence-based care while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes for patients and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of neonatal patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments.
- Monitor physiological data and intervene as necessary.
- Administer medications and blood products as prescribed.
- Initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions.
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Communicate care plans effectively with families and provide discharge education.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current Oklahoma RN license or multistate compact RN license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (American Heart Association).
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Certifications (if any)
- BLS – required.
- NRP – required.
