Job Description:

  • JOB SUMMARY  
    The Registered Nurse – Radiation Oncology provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy. This role includes patient assessment, education, coordination of care, and management of treatment-related side effects in collaboration with the oncology team.

    Key Responsibilities  
    • Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after radiation therapy  
    • Educate patients and families about radiation procedures, side effects, and self-care  
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed  
    • Document patient care accurately and timely  
    • Collaborate with radiation oncologists and other healthcare professionals  
    • Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families  
    • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards  
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff education  

    Required Qualifications  
    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license  
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent  
    • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in oncology or radiation therapy  
    • Strong communication and critical thinking skills  
    • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team  

    Preferred Qualifications  
    • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Radiation Oncology Nursing certification  
    • Experience in patient education and oncology research  

    Certifications  
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification  
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
