  • Job Summary  
    The Registered Nurse – PACU provides specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures. Working under general supervision, the RN monitors patients’ physiological status, ensures safe recovery, and delivers high-quality post-operative care while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients in the PACU.
    2. Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments.
    3. Monitor patients’ physiological status and intervene as necessary.
    4. Administer medications, IV infusions, and blood products as prescribed.
    5. Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
    6. Deliver competent and compassionate patient care.
    7. Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge instructions.
    8. Inform patients and families of hospital procedures.
    9. Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
    10. Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff.
    11. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
    2. Current RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact RN license (eNLC).
    3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
    4. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (American Heart Association).
    5. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (American Heart Association).
    6. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. BLS – required.
    2. ACLS – required.
    3. PALS – required.
