Job Summary
The Willow Ambulatory Analyst is responsible for the design, build, implementation, and support of the Epic Willow Ambulatory application, with a focus on retail and outpatient pharmacy operations. This role partners with pharmacy operations, leadership, revenue cycle, and IT teams to ensure efficient, scalable, and reliable medication workflows that support patient access and business continuity. The analyst operates in a high-volume environment where system stability, turnaround time, and accuracy directly impact patient experience and pharmacy throughput.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Pharmacy Application Support
- Design and configure Epic Willow functionality for retail and outpatient workflows
- Analyze workflows and translate operational needs into scalable Epic configuration
- Support medication lifecycle including intake, dispensing, charging, and inventory visibility
- Perform system maintenance, resolve incidents, and implement enhancements
Operational Partnership & Workflow Optimization
- Collaborate with pharmacy operations to identify inefficiencies and support workflow changes
- Support new store openings and operational initiatives
- Serve as subject matter expert for retail pharmacy stakeholders
Testing, Validation & Release Support
- Participate in integrated testing and workflow validation
- Support cutover planning, go-live execution, and stabilization
- Validate system behavior under real-world conditions
Integration & Vendor Coordination
- Support integrations with third-party pharmacy systems and dispensing hardware
- Partner with vendor teams for issue triage and resolution
- Escalate cross-system issues appropriately
Crossover & Enterprise Collaboration
- Collaborate with Willow Inpatient team on shared medication records and enterprise build alignment
- Participate in cross-application initiatives impacting both inpatient and ambulatory pharmacy
- Contribute to knowledge sharing across pharmacy IT teams
Project Execution & Production Support
- Independently manage tasks and small-to-medium pharmacy initiatives
- Balance enhancements with time-sensitive production issues
- Provide clear updates and escalate risks as needed
Documentation & Governance
- Create and maintain documentation including workflows, test artifacts, and support materials
- Follow change control standards and governance processes
- Contribute to continuous improvement of pharmacy system support
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Pharmacy, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience supporting Epic Willow Ambulatory or similar pharmacy applications
- Strong understanding of retail pharmacy workflows (prescription processing, dispensing, charging, inventory, POS integrations)
- Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to work in high-volume, production-focused environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Epic Willow Ambulatory certification
- Experience with retail pharmacy operations and vendor integrations
- Prior collaboration with inpatient pharmacy IT teams
Certifications
- Epic Willow Ambulatory certification preferred
