The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides patient care within the scope of practice while supporting physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare team members. This role ensures compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards while delivering compassionate, age-appropriate care to patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold client policies, procedures, and applicable state, federal, and local laws.
- Demonstrate a professional, supportive attitude and effective communication strategies, including chain of command and issue escalation.
- Participate in problem identification and resolution, supporting new ideas and improvements.
- Mentor and orient others in skill development and behavioral learning.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve patient concerns and ensure continuity of care.
- Prioritize and delegate work assignments appropriately to ensure completion of patient care activities.
- Comply with regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and standards of practice.
- Perform patient care activities within scope of practice, considering age-related needs.
- Report unusual findings to the Registered Nurse and contribute recommendations for revising care plans.
- Adhere to hospital standards that customize care for age-related needs of the population served.
Required Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in [state/region].
