Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (Wound Care) to provide specialized nursing care focused on the prevention, assessment, and treatment of acute and chronic wounds. This role involves collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver evidence-based wound management and patient education.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and document wound healing progress for patients with acute, chronic, or surgical wounds.
- Develop and implement individualized wound care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Perform wound care procedures including dressing changes, debridement assistance, and infection prevention measures.
- Educate patients and families on wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and discharge instructions.
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies related to wound management.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and safety protocols.
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff regarding wound care best practices.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
- Strong knowledge of wound care practices, infection control, and patient education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board-approved program.
- Prior experience in wound care, surgical nursing, or outpatient wound management.
Certifications (if any)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Wound Care Certification (WCC), Certified Wound Specialist (CWS), or equivalent preferred.
