  • Job Summary
    The Registered Nurse (Pediatrics) provides compassionate, family-centered nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents with a variety of acute and chronic health conditions. The RN works collaboratively with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, evidence-based care and to support optimal patient outcomes in a pediatric setting.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
    2. Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and adjust care as necessary in collaboration with the healthcare team.
    3. Perform and assist with diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
    4. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
    5. Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) according to hospital policy.
    6. Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond promptly to emergencies.
    7. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and allied health staff to coordinate comprehensive care.
    8. Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards to promote a safe environment for patients and staff.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
    2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
    3. Minimum 1 year of recent pediatric or acute care nursing experience.
    4. Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
    5. Proficiency with electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Pediatric Step-Down, or Pediatric Emergency Department.
    2. Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) or other relevant specialty certification.
    3. Pediatric experience in a hospital or specialty clinic setting.

    Certifications
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
    2. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required or must be obtained within a specified timeframe after hire.
    3. RN license (state-specific).
