Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. The PTA will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to provide therapeutic care, assist patients in improving mobility, and support recovery plans tailored to individual needs. This role plays a vital part in helping patients regain independence and achieve optimal physical function.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by physical therapists to help patients regain strength, mobility, and function.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities.
- Monitor patient progress and report observations to supervising physical therapists.
- Educate patients and families on exercises, safety practices, and home care routines.
- Assist with the use of therapeutic equipment and ensure proper patient positioning.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress.
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current PTA license in the state of practice.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques and rehabilitation practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Prior experience in hospital, outpatient clinic, or rehabilitation facility.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Certifications (if any)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Additional specialty certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid) preferred.
