  • Job Summary
    The Sonographer provides safe, high-quality, and cost-effective patient-centric care across multiple care settings, including acute inpatient facilities, outpatient physician practices, diagnostic/urgent care centers, and statewide outreach clinics. This role involves preparing patients for procedures, performing diagnostic imaging, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician-ordered exams
    2. Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and care teams to achieve clinical outcomes and service expectations
    3. Operate specialized equipment including cardiovascular and radiologic systems to perform diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures
    4. Conduct post-procedure reviews to confirm completion, documentation, and technical quality in line with department protocols and accreditation standards
    5. Transfer images and data to archival systems, enter technical findings, and prepare studies for physician reporting

    Required Qualifications
    1. Entry-level knowledge of sonography practices and patient care standards
    2. Ability to operate diagnostic imaging equipment safely and effectively
    3. Strong communication and collaboration skills with patients and multidisciplinary teams
    4. Competence in documentation and reporting for imaging studies

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Experience in cardiovascular or radiologic imaging
    2. Familiarity with accreditation standards and departmental protocols

    Certifications
    1. Certification in diagnostic medical sonography preferred
    2. Additional specialty certifications (cardiac, vascular, OB/GYN) desirable
