Job Summary
The Registered Nurse – Medicine Specialty provides patient-centered care in medical-surgical and step-down units within a hospital setting. This role requires strong clinical expertise, adaptability in fast-paced environments, and the ability to collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and effective care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care to patients in Med Surg (MS) and Step Down (SD) units.
- Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and provide IV therapy.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with hospital standards.
- Support patients and families with education and discharge planning.
- Maintain safety and quality standards in all aspects of patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
- Experience in Med Surg (MS) and Step Down (SD) required.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
- Active RN License – State or Compact RN License (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Travel nursing experience.
- Level 1 Trauma experience.
- ICU experience.
Certifications
- BLS certification required.
- Additional specialty certifications (e.g., ACLS, CCRN) are considered a plus.
