Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) line procedures. The RN will be responsible for assessing patients, inserting and maintaining PICC lines, and providing education to patients and staff regarding vascular access. This is a contract position requiring strong clinical expertise and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients for PICC line placement suitability.
- Insert, maintain, and remove PICC lines in accordance with clinical guidelines.
- Monitor patients for complications related to vascular access.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding PICC line care.
- Train and support clinical staff in PICC line procedures and maintenance.
- Document all procedures and patient interactions accurately in the medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of nursing experience, with direct experience in PICC line insertion and management.
- Strong knowledge of vascular access procedures and infection control practices.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Experience in acute care or hospital settings.
- Certification in vascular access or infusion therapy.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Certifications (if any)
- Current RN license (mandatory).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced certification in vascular access (preferred).
