Job Summary
The Registered Dietitian II is responsible for intermediate to advanced assessment, planning, implementation, and oversight for patients with low to high-complexity nutritional needs. This role functions independently as an experienced registered dietitian, providing patient-centered nutrition care and engaging in quality improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Nutrition Counseling: Provide tailored dietary advice to patients, families, and caregivers to improve disease or condition management. Support shared decision-making by addressing information gaps.
- Treatment Plan Development & Implementation: Develop and execute comprehensive nutrition plans in collaboration with healthcare teams; maintain accurate patient records in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Nutrition Education: Personalize and deliver patient and family education materials; contribute to the development of training resources for colleagues.
- Professional Collaboration: Mentor and support colleagues in specialized nutrition practices; build collaborative relationships across disciplines.
- Community Engagement: Provide nutritional program information to community health agencies; promote awareness of nutrition services.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement activities to optimize nutrition care outcomes.
- Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nutrition education program approved by the credentialing body.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian.
- Active Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).Active Texas Dietitian License (TDLR).
- Strong communication, counseling, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a clinical setting.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Clinical specialty certification (required within 6 months of hire).

Physical Requirements
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, and negligible amounts constantly to move objects.
- Work may involve handling biohazardous, chemical, and radiological materials with appropriate PPE.
