  • Job Summary
    The Registered Nurse – 2B Nursery provides specialized nursing care to newborns in a hospital nursery setting. This role ensures safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care for infants while supporting families during the early stages of their child’s life. The nurse collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal outcomes for newborns.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Deliver direct nursing care to newborns in the nursery, including monitoring vital signs and overall health.
    2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
    3. Assist with feeding, bathing, and other aspects of newborn care.
    4. Educate and support parents and families regarding infant care, safety, and developmental needs.
    5. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in medical records.
    6. Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
    7. Adhere to infection control standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
    2. Minimum of 1–2 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics or neonatal care.
    3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with families.
    4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced nursery environment.
    5. Commitment to providing compassionate, family-centered care.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Prior experience in a Level II or Level III nursery or neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
    2. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
    3. Training in lactation support and newborn developmental care.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    2. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
    3. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification beneficial.
