  • Job Summary
    The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach to deliver high-quality imaging services that support accurate diagnosis and patient care.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Perform a variety of ultrasound procedures including abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, and small parts imaging.
    2. Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging procedures.
    3. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
    4. Evaluate images for quality, clarity, and diagnostic value before submission to physicians or radiologists.
    5. Accurately document patient information, procedures performed, and results in the system.
    6. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
    7. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
    8. Assist in training new staff or students as needed.

    Required Qualifications
    1. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
    2. Completion of an accredited ultrasound/sonography program.
    3. Proven experience performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures in a clinical setting.
    4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Experience in specialized modalities such as vascular, cardiac, or musculoskeletal sonography.
    2. Prior experience in a hospital or multi-specialty clinic setting.

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Current ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification or eligibility required.
    2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
    3. Additional specialty certifications (e.g., RVT, RDCS) preferred.
