Job Summary
The Clinical Assistant provides essential support in patient intake, communication, financial management, and office operations. This role ensures a welcoming environment, smooth administrative processes, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Welcome
- Manage check-in and check-out procedures
- Collect and update patient information (address, phone, emergency contacts)
- Ensure HIPAA privacy notices and consent forms are signed and scanned
- Communicate with patients regarding wait times to maintain satisfaction
- Financial Management
- Verify insurance coverage and patient eligibility
- Collect and process co-payments
- Communication & Triage
- Handle heavy phone volume and route calls appropriately
- Schedule appointments using EMR software (Epic)
- Balance provider schedules efficiently
- Office Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lobby and patient areas
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with patient intake and administrative tasks in a healthcare setting
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic preferred)
- Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
