  • Position Overview  
    The Dental Hygienist provides preventive oral care and patient education to support overall dental health. This role works closely with dentists and other dental professionals to deliver high-quality care, perform routine cleanings, and assist in identifying oral health concerns. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to promoting oral hygiene and wellness.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing to remove plaque, tartar, and stains.
    2. Conduct oral health assessments and chart patient conditions.
    3. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays).
    4. Apply preventive treatments such as sealants and fluoride.
    5. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, nutrition, and preventive care.
    6. Assist dentists during examinations and procedures as needed.
    7. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
    8. Ensure compliance with infection control and sterilization protocols.
    9. Support patient comfort and safety throughout procedures.
    10. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

    Qualifications
    1. Current Dental Hygienist license.
    2. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
    3. Strong knowledge of dental instruments, radiography, and preventive care techniques.
    4. Excellent communication and patient education skills.
    5. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
    6. Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
    7. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years.
    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Prior experience in a dental practice or clinical setting.
    2. Familiarity with electronic dental records (EDR) systems.
    3. Experience working with diverse patient populations.

    Work Environment
    1. Dental clinic or practice setting.
    2. Exposure to dental instruments, radiography equipment, and sterilization processes.
    3. Requires adherence to PPE and infection control protocols.
