Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cath Lab provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and other interventional procedures. This role involves close collaboration with cardiologists and the healthcare team to ensure patient safety, monitor patient status, and assist in complex cardiac procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures and provide peri-procedural nursing care.
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs and condition during procedures.
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
- Manage and operate cath lab equipment according to protocols.
- Document procedures, patient status, and interventions accurately in the medical record system.
- Educate patients and families regarding pre- and post-procedure care.
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection control standards.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in cardiac nursing or cath lab settings
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations
- Proficiency in clinical documentation and electronic medical records
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Previous experience in a cath lab or cardiac care unit
- Familiarity with hospital-specific cardiac catheterization protocols and equipment
Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) License

- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – preferred
