As a Certified Medical Technician (CMT), you will be responsible for assisting in the diagnostic, therapeutic, and patient care processes within a medical facility. Your role will involve performing various medical tests, operating diagnostic equipment, and supporting healthcare professionals with patient care. This position requires a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
Patient Care Assistance:
Assist patients in preparing for medical tests, procedures, or examinations.
Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate, etc.).
Prepare and maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Ensure patients' comfort and assist with mobility or other needs as required.
Medical Testing:
Perform routine diagnostic tests such as blood draws, urinalysis, and other laboratory procedures.
Operate and maintain medical equipment like blood pressure monitors, EKG machines, and other testing devices.
Record and interpret test results for healthcare providers.
Administrative Duties:
Schedule appointments and assist in managing patient flow.
Coordinate with medical teams to ensure timely patient care and procedures.
Ensure patient information is correctly inputted into medical software.
Infection Control:
Follow proper infection control protocols and safety procedures.
Sterilize medical instruments and equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
Patient Education:
Educate patients on procedures, preparation for tests, and aftercare.
Provide general health guidance as instructed by medical professionals.
Collaboration:
Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel to provide optimal care.
Provide feedback to physicians regarding any changes in patient conditions or results.
Certification:
Must have a valid certification from a recognized program (e.g., Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (CMLT), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or equivalent certification).
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
An associate degree or diploma in medical technology or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
Previous experience as a Medical Technician or in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Familiarity with medical equipment and diagnostic procedures is an asset.
Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
