Job Summary
We are seeking a licensed Dosimetrist Treatment Planner to join our team at the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine.
This hybrid role offers a mix of on-site and remote work following orientation.
The ideal candidate will have experience in treatment planning using Phyton and hold a valid dosimetry license.
No on-call or weekend work is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop treatment plans using computer and/or manual computation to deliver prescribed radiation doses in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist’s prescription.
- Utilize 2-D, 3-D, IMRT, and Rapid Arc planning techniques.
- Consider dose-limiting structures and document doses accurately.
- Coordinate treatment simulations and tumor localization using CT, MRI, and PET imaging.
- Perform multi-modality image fusion for treatment planning.
- Assist in the fabrication of beam-modifying devices such as compensators, shields, and wedges.
- Support patient positioning during simulation and assist in creating immobilization devices.
- Supervise therapists in implementing treatment plans and using appropriate devices and techniques.
- Perform and verify calculations for accurate dose delivery and maintain detailed documentation.
- Transcribe treatment plan details into patient charts and complete technical documentation.
- Educate students and residents on applied aspects of medical dosimetry.
- Participate in clinical research and continuing education related to treatment planning and dosimetry.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Dosimetrist.
- Fully licensed Dosimetrist (Dosimetry license required).
- Experience in treatment planning using Phyton.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Science or related discipline).
- Strong understanding of radiation oncology treatment planning techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- MDCB certification (required within one year of employment).
- Experience with hybrid work environments.
- Familiarity with advanced planning techniques and clinical research.
Certifications
- Required: Dosimetry License.
- Preferred: Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) – must be obtained within one year of employment.
Work Environment
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts between 6:00 AM and 5:30 PM.
- Hybrid: 50% on-site, 50% remote after orientation.
- No on-call or weekend responsibilities.
