    JOB SUMMARY
    A Retail Staff Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescription medications, counseling patients on their use, and ensuring the safe and effective management of medications in a retail pharmacy setting. This role involves maintaining accurate patient records, collaborating with healthcare providers, and abiding by all state and federal regulations.

    Key Responsibilities
    - Dispense and verify prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
    - Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and proper storage.
    - Review physician orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
    - Compound medications as needed.
    - Maintain patient profiles and ensure proper record-keeping.
    - Supervise pharmacy technicians and other support staff.
    - Manage inventory and order prescription drugs and other pharmacy supplies.
    - Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
    - Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to clarify prescriptions and discuss patient care.
    - Provide basic health screening services as permitted by state law.

    Schedule / Shift
    - Full-time position.
    - May include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    Required Qualifications
    - Valid Pharmacist license in the state of practice.
    - Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy (e.g., Doctor of Pharmacy - PharmD).
    - Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and pharmacy law.

    Certifications
    - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.

    Experience
    - Previous experience in a retail pharmacy setting is preferred.

    Skills
    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    - Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    - Proficient in pharmacy dispensing software.
    - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    - Customer service oriented.
