JOB SUMMARY Under the supervision of licensed nursing and physician staff, the Endoscopy/GI Tech assists with procedures in the Endoscopy or Gastroenterology department. This role provides direct patient care and technical support during diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures.
Key Responsibilities • Prepare the endoscopy suite for procedures, ensuring all equipment and supplies are readily available and functional. • Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures (e.g., colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, ERCP). • Operate and troubleshoot endoscopic equipment. • Clean, disinfect, and reprocess endoscopic equipment according to established protocols and manufacturer guidelines. • Maintain a sterile and safe environment within the procedure room. • Transport patients to and from the endoscopy suite. • Monitor vital signs and patient comfort during and immediately after procedures. • Document patient care activities and procedural information accurately. • Stock and manage inventory of supplies and equipment.

Required Qualifications • High school diploma or GED. • Successful completion of a GI/Endoscopy Technician program or equivalent training/experience.
Experience • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Endoscopy/GI Tech.
Certifications • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Skills • Proficiency in assisting with endoscopic procedures. • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the gastrointestinal system. • Familiarity with infection control and sterilization procedures. • Ability to operate and maintain endoscopic equipment. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
