Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Emergency Room (ER) team. The RN will provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in urgent and emergent conditions, ensuring safety, comfort, and effective treatment in a fast-paced emergency setting. This role requires strong clinical skills, quick decision-making, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and manage the care of pediatric patients presenting with a wide range of urgent and emergent health conditions.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding care plans and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, including performing life-saving procedures as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control practices.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted RN license in the state of employment.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in emergency or pediatric care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous experience in a Pediatric Emergency Room or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
- Familiarity with emergency department protocols and pediatric care equipment.
- Ability to educate and support families in high-stress emergency situations.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – preferred.
