  • Job Summary
    The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to critically ill and medically complex patients requiring intensive monitoring and advanced therapeutic interventions. The RN utilizes clinical expertise, critical thinking, and evidence-based practices to assess, treat, and monitor patients while collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for critically ill patients.
    2. Monitor patient vital signs, hemodynamic status, and responses to treatment interventions.
    3. Administer medications, intravenous therapies, blood products, and critical care treatments as prescribed.
    4. Operate and manage advanced life-support equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, and invasive monitoring devices.
    5. Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
    6. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
    7. Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement evidence-based nursing interventions.
    8. Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, procedures, and recovery expectations.
    9. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
    10. Adhere to patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance standards.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of Critical Care, ICU, Emergency Department, or Acute Care nursing experience preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of critical care nursing practices, hemodynamic monitoring, and life-support systems.
    • Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
    • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
    • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
    • Previous experience in Medical ICU (MICU), Surgical ICU (SICU), Neuro ICU, Trauma ICU, or Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU).
    • Experience managing mechanically ventilated and critically ill patients.
    • Knowledge of evidence-based critical care protocols and advanced monitoring techniques.
    Certifications
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
    • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Certification, preferred.
