Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to support vaccine administration efforts. The ideal candidate will ensure safe and accurate vaccine delivery, educate patients, and monitor for any immediate post-vaccination reactions. This role is critical to supporting public health initiatives and requires strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity and review medical history, allergies, and contraindications prior to vaccination.
- Educate patients and/or caregivers on the vaccine being administered, including potential benefits, risks, and side effects.
- Prepare vaccines in accordance with manufacturer and facility guidelines (e.g., dosing, storage, handling, and reconstitution if needed).
- Administer vaccines via the appropriate route (intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal, or oral).
- Monitor patients for immediate adverse reactions following vaccination.
- Respond to medical emergencies such as anaphylaxis according to established protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of vaccine administration and patient interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent patient education and communication skills
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- RN License (State-specific, active, and in good standing)
