Job Summary:
The RN - Oncology is dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to patients undergoing treatment for cancer. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, a strong understanding of patient safety protocols, and the ability to think critically in emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver efficient and effective patient care through clear communication and collaboration with patients and healthcare staff.
- Provide treatment and support to ill, injured, and recovering patients.
- Assess patient conditions, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, maintain accurate records, and educate patients about their care.
- Coordinate individualized care plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Adhere to policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality care.
- Work independently under supervision to implement care goals for patients.
- Regularly assess patients and document progress.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support patient care.
- Foster excellent communication with staff, physicians, patients, and families to enhance the care experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- At least 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in oncology or a related field.
Certifications:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in oncology nursing and familiarity with oncology treatment protocols.
