  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Accountant to oversee day-to-day financial operations related to the general ledger. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of financial reporting while contributing to a collaborative team environment. It is ideal for an accounting professional looking to grow their skills in a mid-level capacity.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
    2. Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and allocations
    3. Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies
    4. Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
    5. Assist in preparing management reports and variance analyses
    6. Support month-end and year-end closing processes
    7. Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
    8. Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
    9. Reconcile bank accounts, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and other financial accounts
    10. Monitor and resolve outstanding items promptly
    11. Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency within accounting operations
    12. Assist in developing and implementing new procedures and controls
    13. Collaborate with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll teams to resolve issues
    14. Work closely with other departments to support financial data needs and ensure accurate reporting

    Required Qualifications
    1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    2. 3–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably with general ledger or financial reporting responsibilities
    3. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems)
    4. Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, v-lookups)
    5. Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
    6. Excellent organizational and time-management skills
    7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    8. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
    9. Effective communication and interpersonal skills

    Preferred Qualifications (if any)
    1. Experience in payroll accounting or related financial operations
    2. Exposure to process improvement initiatives within accounting functions

    Certifications (if any)
    1. CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification (preferred but not required)
