plaintext JOB SUMMARY Provide diagnostic ultrasound services to patients as ordered by physicians and other qualified healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities - Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations including abdominal, pelvic, vascular, and obstetric studies. - Obtain patient history and review relevant medical information. - Explain procedures to patients and address any concerns. - Operate ultrasound equipment to acquire high-quality diagnostic images. - Analyze and interpret sonographic findings. - Document findings and prepare preliminary reports for physician review. - Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. - Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of ultrasound equipment. - Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
Required Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. - Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification.
Experience - Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
Skills - Proficiency in performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations. - Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Proficient in charting and documentation.
EMR / Systems - Experience with various EMR and PACS systems is beneficial.
