  • Job Summary
    The Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology provides specialized care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, radiation, and surgical interventions. This role requires advanced clinical skills, compassion, and the ability to support patients and families through complex treatment plans. The RN collaborates with oncologists, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, evidence-based care while ensuring patient comfort and dignity.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Provide direct patient care to oncology patients, including administering chemotherapy and supportive therapies
    2. Monitor patient conditions and manage side effects of cancer treatments
    3. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, and self-care strategies
    4. Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
    5. Document patient care accurately in medical records to ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
    6. Support pain management and symptom control to improve quality of life
    7. Respond to emergencies with rapid interventions to ensure patient safety
    8. Promote infection control and patient safety protocols in oncology settings

    Required Qualifications
    1. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
    2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent education
    3. Minimum of 1–2 years of oncology nursing experience preferred
    4. Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
    5. Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification
    2. Prior experience in chemotherapy administration and cancer treatment protocols
    3. Advanced training in life support techniques (ACLS, BLS)

    Certifications (if applicable)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required
    • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) – Preferred
