  • Job Summary
    The CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions. This role ensures patient safety, operates advanced imaging equipment, administers contrast media when appropriate, and maintains compliance with established clinical, regulatory, and radiation safety standards.

    The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Patient Care & Preparation
    • Verify patient identity and physician orders prior to examinations.
    • Explain CT procedures and address patient questions or concerns.
    • Prepare and position patients appropriately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
    • Assess patient history and screen for contraindications to contrast administration.
    • Monitor patient comfort, condition, and safety throughout procedures.
    • CT Imaging Procedures
    • Perform CT scans according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
    • Operate CT imaging equipment to produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images.
    • Administer contrast media under established guidelines and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
    • Evaluate image quality and ensure studies are complete before submission for interpretation.
    • Follow radiation safety standards and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
    • Documentation & Records Management
    • Accurately document patient information, procedures, and imaging results in the appropriate systems.
    • Maintain complete and timely records in RIS, PACS, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
    • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.
    • Complete all required clinical and procedural documentation.
    • Equipment Maintenance & Quality Assurance
    • Perform routine equipment checks and quality control procedures.
    • Identify and report equipment malfunctions or service needs.
    • Maintain cleanliness and proper operation of imaging equipment and work areas.
    • Assist in quality improvement initiatives and departmental accreditation activities.
    • Collaboration & Clinical Support
    • Work closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
    • Support emergency, trauma, inpatient, and outpatient imaging needs as required.
    • Participate in departmental meetings, continuing education, and training activities.
    • Contribute to maintaining an efficient and patient-focused imaging department.

    Required Qualifications
    • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
    • Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography.
    • Current state Radiologic Technologist license, if required by state regulations.
    • Knowledge of CT imaging procedures, anatomy, physiology, and radiation safety principles.
    • Strong patient care, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
    • Proficiency with imaging software, PACS, RIS, and EMR systems.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Previous CT Technologist experience in a hospital, imaging center, or acute care setting.
    • ARRT Certification in Computed Tomography (CT).
    • Experience in trauma, emergency department, or critical care imaging.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Sciences or a related healthcare field.
    • Experience with advanced CT imaging protocols and contrast-enhanced procedures.

    Certifications (If Any)
    • ARRT Certification in Radiography – Required
    • ARRT Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) – Preferred/Required per facility
    • State Radiologic Technologist License (if applicable)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – Required or Preferred based on facility requirements
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification – Preferred
