  • Job Summary
    We are seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced Family Medicine practice. This role will involve providing clinical and administrative support to providers, assisting with patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of the practice. The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently in a high-volume environment, interacting with patients, providers, and residents across a diverse patient population, from newborns to geriatrics.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Clinical Support: Assist providers with patient examinations, including taking vital signs (blood pressure, weight, temperature) and reporting patient history summaries.
    • Patient Interaction: Verify patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical histories, and confirming the purpose of the visit.
    • Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, and assist in the documentation of medical records.
    • Medical Equipment Maintenance: Maintain medical supplies inventory, ensuring adequate stock, and perform routine preventive maintenance on medical equipment.
    • Administrative Support: Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and processing prior authorizations.
    • Patient Assistance: Provide information and assistance to patients, ensuring their needs are met in a timely and compassionate manner.
    • Team Collaboration: Work closely with providers and residents to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care in a busy, high-volume practice.
    • Compliance: Ensure all activities are in compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.

    Required Qualifications
    • Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a primary care or family medicine setting is preferred.

    Skills:
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficient in patient care procedures such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and maintaining medical records.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Knowledge of office software and medical practice management systems.
    • Physical Requirements: Ability to assist with patient mobility and lift medical supplies as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Previous experience in a high-volume, primary care setting is highly preferred.
    • Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems.
    • Bilingual skills may be a plus for patient interaction.

    Certifications (if any)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
    • Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent).
