  • Job Summary
    The Registered Nurse – Oncology provides compassionate, evidence-based care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. This role is responsible for administering therapies, monitoring patient progress, educating patients and families, and collaborating with the oncology care team to ensure safe and effective treatment delivery.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Administer oncology treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care
    2. Monitor patient status by assessing vital signs, side effects, and treatment responses
    3. Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, side effects, and self-care strategies
    4. Collaborate with oncology team including physicians, pharmacists, and social workers to coordinate care
    5. Maintain accurate documentation in patient records and ensure compliance with hospital policies
    6. Support patient well-being through emotional support, counseling, and palliative care when appropriate
    7. Adhere to safety protocols including infection control and safe handling of hazardous medications

    Required Qualifications
    1. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
    2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
    3. Minimum 1–3 years of clinical nursing experience
    4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    5. Ability to work in a fast-paced, emotionally demanding environment
    6. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Prior oncology nursing experience
    2. Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) or willingness to obtain
    3. Experience with chemotherapy administration and patient education
    4. Familiarity with palliative and hospice care practices

    Certifications (if any)
    1. Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
    2. Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) (preferred)
